Alpine F1 Team have an excellent opportunity for a talented individual as an Aerodynamics Project Manager working within our Programme Management department.
Aerodynamics Project Manager – The role
Working with the aerodynamic development teams and department senior management, the Aerodynamics Project Manager will provide a focal point to ensure that our wind tunnel development programme is delivered to a best-in-class standard.
They will bear overall responsibility for scheduling in the wind tunnel and the associated design and production inputs, in order to achieve our development and full scale release commitments, while working to continuously improve the processes in use. This will be a key role in ensuring the efficient utilisation of some of the most exciting technology in use by the team, so that we can most effectively contribute to future race car performance.
Aerodynamics Project Manager – The person
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the aerodynamic development process, coupled with a commitment to identifying potential improvements and working to implement them with other stakeholders. They will most likely have come from a similar environment within F1 and therefore have an appreciation of the pace and technical context in which they will operate.
It will be necessary to demonstrate leadership and a positive attitude in a competitive environment, where necessary challenging colleagues with conflicting requirements and achieving consensus. The role requires interaction with colleagues performing a wide variety of functions across the department and at all levels; confidence, tact and integrity are all vital personal qualities, as is an ability to maintain effective communication.
Excellent organisational skills are clearly a pre-requisite of this role, together with IT literacy (experience with project management tools and ERP would be an advantage). The successful candidate will understand the need to assist colleagues working in cutting-edge technical roles with the best possible project management support, such that they can focus their skills on race car performance.
