Account Executive (Seasonal)

Summary:

Watkins Glen International (WGI) is currently searching for an enthusiastic individual to join the best team in motorsports, as a Seasonal Account Executive. This position is a tempoary full time position from January through October.  This position will assist in the planning and development of a regional and local group sales strategy and initiatives for event related activities at WGI. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the sports and entertainment industry, with a focus on sales, marketing, and customer service.  

Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming calls with the ability to up-sell callers into packages, groups, and hospitality opportunities 

  • Extensive cold calling to potential group prospects on a daily basis (minimum of 50 outbound calls daily)

  • Provide excellent customer service to prospects and current clients over the phone, email, and
    face-to-face

  • Assist customer service efforts (mailing invoices, tickets, etc.) 

  • Provide support to the ticket office during events by selling tickets at booths

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree (A.S.) preferred

  • Minimum of two years of customer service and sales experience   

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power Point

  • Professional presentation and able to work with the public

  • Ability to work weekends
