Account Executive, Driver and Team Marketing

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Account Executive, Driver and Team Marketing based in Charlotte, NC.

The Account Executive, Driver and Team Marketing is responsible for leading and executing programs that ladder up to NASCAR’s key marketing priorities and garner support from industry stakeholders.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Focus primarily on relationships with drivers/teams, event promotion and industry alignment across all of the Xfinity and Truck Series while assisting with various efforts and relationships at the Cup Series level
  • Oversee internal driver and team request processes and tracking systems to ensure value is provided back to drivers, teams and their partners
  • Manage the report generating process for driver and team requests, including compiling video, photos, social and other related media
  • Create best practices for day-to-day driver and team requests, including social media, brand development, etc.; work closely with driver and team representatives on implementation and execution
  • Maintain department tracking on SharePoint (projects, credentials, sponsorship tracker, entertainment request fulfillment, making show car requests, etc.)
  • Coordinate internal support of priority driver and team announcements, with the primary goal of a creating wholistic approach, which streamline efforts to elevate key industry news.
  • Oversee the Cup Series Driver Event Promotion Program in partnership with various internal departments
  • Execute advance preparation, manage logistics, communicate pertinent details and track assigned driver and team requests
  • Manage all Driver & Team charitable efforts
  • Work alongside Digital Media on the Industry Portal while overseeing the day-to-day of the site
  • Assist in logistics with the VIP Hard Card Program
  • Work closely with Marketing Activation on various driver / team events throughout the season and post-season (i.e. Hosting option for drivers/teams, Hall of Fame Dinner, Award Shows etc.)
  • Build, maintain and grow professional relationships and consensus for department initiatives throughout the industry, including with current drivers, teams, PR reps and management teams
  • Contribute to driver development tools and resources that allow the league to garner relationships with the sport’s next generation athlete from the on-set of their career (i.e. Rookie Meetings)
  • Coordinate driver and team participation, in partnership with Stakeholder Communications, around key programs and/or initiatives that have a wide impact on industry
  • Serve as the primary conduit for Driver and Team Marketing and Communications, with the primary goal of maximizing opportunities for exposure and coordinating work from a communications perspective
  • In partnership with Partnership Marketing and Fan Event Experience, assist in managing the relationship with lower series driver participation for various opportunities throughout the season
  • 25% travel on the weekends

Required skills / experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and 1-2 years of drivers, teams, tracks, motorsports/sports marketing industry, talent management, athlete development, marketing, public relations/communications experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in digital and social media communications
  • Impeccable writing skills
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in an extremely fast paced environment
  • Extremely organized with an eye for detail
