Account Director, Financial Services Client

Integrated Marketing / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs.

Octagon is looking for an Account Director to collaborate on strategic consulting, development, planning and execution for our client’s professional sports platforms!

In this role, you'll act as our day to day agency lead for MLB, NFL, NASCAR and Endurance programs, working across multiple campaigns to provide strategic consultation and thought leadership in the space.

This position will work closely with our clients, as well as internal (Strategy, Creative, Branded Experiences), external agency and property partners. We need someone to think big picture and connect the dots in a complex organization, while also being able to project manage and implement strategic planning.

We are looking for someone that can own the relationship with a senior client, guide thinking and share best practices. This role will also involve managing and developing at least one direct report. If you're a confident project manager that thinks on your feet, takes initiative, identifies and solves problems independently, finds creative solutions, and keeps programs on track across multiple partners (agency and client) this is the job for you! If you've had experience crafting, building and delivering presentations, you'll be ahead of the curve. Excellent attention to detail, communication and client management skills are required.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Guide program development through strategic planning and ideation while maintaining connection to the work through onsite execution and reporting. This includes integration with multiple clients, internal departments, and agency partners.
  • Serve as day-to-day client liaison across multiple programs
  • Handle and present numerous program documents: strategic program recommendations, lead or represent Octagon on status calls, write and deliver recaps, etc.
  • Manage program budgets through proficiency in accounting and expense procedures
  • Serve as a guide on sports industry and financial service client’s sponsorship portfolio and business initiatives
  • Additional projects as assigned, which may include: assistance on other events/programs, sponsorship evaluations, competitive reviews, POVs, property research, etc.
  • A moderate amount of domestic event travel will be required throughout the year, including nights and weekends

Qualifications

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Someone with a passion for sports, MLB, NFL, Motorsports, running/endurance, entertainment, gaming, music and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture
  • A strategic, forward-thinking, organized, proactive, and creative individual
  • 7+ years agency/client services/experience in project management and execution
  • Shown success working across a combination of strategic, programs, with an ability to consider the real-world implications affecting implementation
  • Experience leading, working closely and collaboratively with internal and external agency partners
  • Confidence presenting material and plans to clients and agency partners
  • A self-starter who demonstrates initiative and embraces new challenges
  • Effective communication skills - both oral and written
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Publisher)
  • A standout colleague; willing and able to collaborate with a great team of people
