5 Axis Machinest

Due to continued business expansion, we are looking for experienced CNC setters/machinists to work our late shift (2pm - 10:30pm Monday - Thursday). We are looking for candidates who have worked in a precision engineering company, ideally machining complex geometrical shapes to high Quality standards. Your previous experience should include :

  • Creating and editing using either Mazatrol and/or Heidenhain.
  • Competent ability to set and operate 5 axis machining centres
  • Able to inspect your machining with hand held measurement tools.

You will have the opportunity to work with top of the range CNC machines and, because of the protoyping nature of the business, excellent variety in the projects that you will be working on.

Our advanced CNC machining capabilities and committed machinists supports leading Motorsport, Automotive OEM’s and Defence customers globally with prototype components. Our machine shop incorporates the latest machining technology including MAZAK INTEGREX , VARIAXIS with High Speed 5 Axis Milling Machines to produce the complex machined cast components in aluminium, stainless steel and iron materials.

Qualification & Requirements:

You will ideally be apprentice trained or time served machinists with a minimum of 5 years CNC machining experience complex components.

  • You must have experience working primarily with Mazak (or Heidenhain) controls and programming using Mazatrol with any other Offline CAM programming experience beneficial.
  • You should have proven experience setting and machining castings using 5 axis and/or Mill/Turn machines
  • You should be able to demonstrate competent use of hand held measurement tools including eight Gauges, Vernier’s, and Bore Mics. You will be working in a fast-paced rapid prototype environment so should have the flexibility to be to support our customers demands when needed.

What we offer:

Salary: Permanent position with an hourly day rate of between £15 - £18 per hour dependent upon experience and machining knowledge. Time after 6:30pm is payable at time and third.

As we are a prototype business, we aim to be pushing technical boundaries so there are excellent opportunities for training and development.
