5 Axis CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator

About the role:

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day CNC machining operations and the oversight of the other capital machinery within the workshop.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities include:

  • Initiating, developing, enhancing and leading the company’s CNC machining capability
  • Interpreting a wide range of drawings and quality specifications from customers
  • Manipulation of CAD data to aid production of tooling and patterns
  • Design and development of machining fixtures
  • Using a practical, hands-on approach with CNC machine programming, setting and operating
  • Modifying production processes to reduce waste and improve operating margins
  • Creating standard operating procedures for CNC department
  • Prioritising multiple activities and tasks to achieve challenging targets
  • Ensuring compliance with work in accordance with HSE legislation, and company operating systems, policies and procedures
  • Promoting and implementing a culture of change as and when required and continuous improvement within the team
  • Providing flexible support to production and prototyping tasks

For this role you will need to:

  • Have a proven knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings
  • Have composite machining experience
  • Have composite pattern and tool making experience including the use of tooling block
  • Have experience in machining metals including titanium, aluminium and stainless steel
  • Have machining experience on CMS/Belotti CNC Machining Centre or equivalent
  • Have a working knowledge of ISO 2001-2015 quality management system
  • Be organised, motivated and able to work independently
  • Be innovative and flexible with an enthusiastic approach
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills to resolve production process issues
  • Have appropriate IT skills
  • Be an effective time manager
  • Have an ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
