TMI Autotech Inc.

About

TMI AutoTech, Inc. is derived from the Ontario (Canada) business entity Trak Motorsports Inc. Trak was incorporated and established in Ontario in 1990 by its owner, David Goadby, for the sole purpose of involvement in Motorsports competition at multiple levels. With its initial roots in competitive Karting, Trak (which is Kart spelled backwards) subsequently progressed through the ranks of amateur, semi-pro and professional GT road and endurance racing in both Canada and the United States from 1992 - 2006. Involvement included CASC sanctioned GT sprint and endurance road racing; ASN sanctioned GT endurance road racing: SCCA Toyota Pro-Atlantic series racing (P1 Racing); and Grand American GTS Rolex series racing. Race car building, preparation and team operations at very high standards were always hallmarks of Trak's business.

Goadby teamed up with avid Motorsport participants and skilled race drivers Brent Gates (VP of Operations) and Mark Swain (VP of Sales and Marketing) in Ontario in 1994 and 2000 respectively for what would prove to be a long and lasting business relationship; both on track and off.  Each partner brings a different skill set to the team including business planning/automotive manufacturing, engineering, and marketing/sales.

Together the trio established and developed the unique "Ariel Atom Experience" (AAE). Based in Toronto the AAE traveled to race tracks throughout Canada and the United States operating high-end, full service driving events with a large, mobile fleet of Atom 2s during 2006 - 2008.

Considering Trak's extensive involvement with and knowledge of the Ariel Atoms, Trak and Ariel established a new exclusive North American License Agreement to Trak for the new Ariel Atom 3 that commenced on March 1, 2008. Upon the signing of the new License Agreement, Trak promptly evaluated potential US business locations.  Trak ultimately determined that a new US company, TMI AutoTech, Inc., would be established and complete operations setup within Halifax County, Virginia.  Initial manufacturing and sale of the Ariel Atom 3 began in 2008 within VIR's Raceplex.  Expanded operations were subsequently relocated to South Boston, VA in early 2016.

The first Ariel Atom 3 was delivered to a client in January of 2009 with steady expansion for both the product and the company.  Providing stable careers for a skilled workforce is a high priority for TMI AutoTech.  Currently TMI AutoTech has a full time staff of 22 people.

Product expansion has been steady with continuous improvement along the way.  Key milestones for TMI AutoTech include the launch of a track specific version of the vehicle named a Spec:RaceAtom in 2011, a Special Edition project with Honda Performance Development in 2013, and the most recent in-house designed Atom 3S in 2015.

In addition to complete vehicle manufacturing TMI AutoTech has worked hard to cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with partners on various engineered components to take advantage of the skills and machinery currently in use by TMI AutoTech.
