Honda Racing F1

Honda Racing F1

About

Honda Racing F1 is the racing arm of Honda Motor Co. Operating from its main facility in Japan and also through Honda R&D Europe, based in Milton Keynes UK, it currently provides engines and Energy Recovery Systems for the Scuderia Toro Rosso team, competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. As from the 2019 season, Honda will also supply the multi-championship winning Red Bull Racing team.

Motor sport has always been an integral part of Honda culture, because its founder, Soichiro Honda believed that racing was the quickest way to develop technology. In 1959, Honda surprised the motorcycling world, taking part in the Isle Of Man TT races and then, in 1964 it made its first appearance on the F1 grid at the German GP, with its own team and car. Since then, either as a team or engine supplier, Honda has competed in over 400 Grands Prix,  winning 72 and taking 6 Constructors’ and 5 Drivers’ Championship titles.

The shift to supplying two teams means we are recruiting staff to be based in our Milton Keynes facility, in a variety of roles. Apart from having the right technical qualifications for each specific job, applicants will also have to demonstrate qualities essential for working in this high pressure environment. In a sport that can be won or lost by thousandths of a second, every team member, whatever their role must always give 100%, with no room for a “good enough” attitude. Positions that involve travelling to races and tests can involve being away from home for almost half a year. Therefore, working in Formula 1 is not for the fainthearted. However, if you feel you have what it takes and wish to work for one of the most historic names in motor sport, we are keen to hear from you and to find out if you have what Honda has always referred to as its “challenging spirit.”
