About

Few teams in the Kwik-Fit British Touring Car Championship have made as much impact in such a short space of time as BTC Racing, the squad earning its place over the last two years as one of the race team premier entries in the UK’s biggest and best motor racing category.

Investement by businessman Steve Dudman formed ahead of the 2019 season, BTC Racing – which is based at impressive state-of-the-art premises in Brackley, Northamptonshire – instantly became a championship contender with the latest specification Honda Civic Type-R FK8.

Winning the opening round of the 2019 campaign at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit with Josh Cook, he added two more wins – both at Thruxton – and four other podiums on his way to fourth in the driver standings. In total that year, the team took 10 outright podiums.

Having led the overall BTCC standings after the opening weekend and in the title fight throughout the season, Cook had a realistic chance of winning the overall crown going into the championship finale but ultimately ended the year a still highly creditable fourth. BTC Racing was fourth in the outright Teams’ Championship and also became Independents Team Vice-Champions.

In 2020, Cook achieved three more race victories and also made history for BTC Racing by claiming the team’s first BTCC pole position in qualifying at Croft. Tom Chilton, meanwhile, was a three-time podium finisher and in the Jack Sears Trophy class, Michael Crees took BTC’s maiden championship silverware after dominating with 12 race wins and six more class top three results, to ensure BTC Racing finished the season as vice champions.

With a championship title and multiple race wins already in the books, the highly ambitious BTC Racing team heads into 2022 looking to make even bigger strides with sights set on battling for the Independents Teams, Independents Drivers and overall BTCC crowns.
