Travelling Composite Technician

The Position:

We are looking to recruit a Travelling Composite Technician who will be responsible for conducting the preparation and build of Formula One cars and subcomponents to stringent technical specifications both at the Williams Factory and at events around the world.  

 

Please note this will be a rotating role which will include being factory based for three months at a time.

The shift pattern when working at the factory will be 4 on 4 off.  

The Traveling role:

As a Travelling Composite Technician, your key responsibilities will be:

  • To participate the preparation, build and disassembly of F1 cars to Williams standards, both prior to and during events.

  • Ensuring that the composite components comply with the stringent design and specification requirements.

  • Use the Williams business systems to maintain appropriate records of component usage and condition.

  • To assist in the identification of any failed car components and participate in the repair or replacement as required.

  • To attend track-based events as organised by the company.

  • Proactively assist the Chief and Number One Mechanics to ensure the workload is completed on time and to the correct standard.

  • Take part in race pit stops and associated training programmes as required.

  • To form a good working relationship with the Chief, Number One mechanic and car crews.

  • To be adaptable, demonstrate initiative along with the ability to work as a team to meet tight deadlines.

  • Problem-solving, along with attention to detail and a can-do attitude

  • A collaborative approach, good communications and organization skills,

The Factory role:

  • Actively demonstrate the ability to conduct your work within a given time frame

  • Accurately predict estimated timelines for the parts being manufactured and adhere to them

  • Ability to work hard and help drive continuous improvement throughout the Departments

  • Ability to manufacture accurate and quality parts that are fit for design intent.

  • To always be motivated and driven and responsive to information

  • To adhere to the company’s Health & Safety policy.

*In compliance with national Secure Freight Consigner conditions, five years’ continuous employment, education and/or training must be evidenced and ay gaps exceeding 28 days accounted for. A criminal record check will also be carried out. This will be explained in more detail during interview.
