JOB TITLE: Trainee Workshop Engineer / Crafts Person

PERMANENT - FULL TIME POSITIONS

SALARY:

Trainee Roles at £18,000 pa + Overtime

through to more advanced roles at up to £23660 pa + Overtime

LOCATION: Thornborough nr Buckingham, Buckinghamshire

Candidates must be able to easily commute to the company’s registered office base in Thornborough Buckingham. This role is in rural location so the applicant must have their own transport

Events Operate throughout the UK and overseas.

DRIVING LICENCE REQUIRED: Full Driving Licence Required

(Additional licence categories particularly C1 and /or experience of driving larger vehicles would be a distinct advantage)

ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are expanding our multi-skilled workshop team with hands-on roles in the design, manufacture and delivery of our world leading range of event and amusement equipment. We require individuals who prefer being hands-on, have flexibility and a 'can do' attitude.

We work with a vast range of materials and techniques including metals, timber, plastics and composites. Innovation runs through everything we do ensuring that our equipment performs to the highest possible standards.

Applicants must be/have:

  • Professionally presented with outgoing personality and excellent communication skills
  • Practical and hands-on in nature with experience in the use of commonly used hand and power-tools.
  • Able to maintain flexibility and enthusiasm to constantly innovate and adopt new skills, techniques and materials to keep our business at the leading edge of the events industry.
  • Ability to assist in the loading and assembly of large event equipment and able to work in various environments including regular work outdoors

Also fundamental is Reliability & Punctuality – In our industry there is no room for anything other than exceptional Reliability and Punctuality – Please do not apply for any role unless you can demonstrate a proven record of unblemished attendance and timekeeping.

Practical Skills that would be desirable, but not essential as full training will be given:

Mechanics (vehicle or machinery), Vehicle Bodywork, Metalwork, Welding, Design Engineering, HGV Bodybuilding, Sign-making & Wrapping, Wiring Installation, Set building, Painting and decorating, Model Making, Plastic Moulding, Electrical Assembly, Intricate Soldering, Electrical Diagnostics (with multimeter) / Basic GRP (Fibreglass) Laminating, Creating Engineering Drawings, CAD and 3D Printing, Carpentry, IT skills etc. Applicants processing skills or experience in these or any other areas that would seem relevant should highlight and detail this information in their application.

HOURS/DAYS

The foundation of the role is a 40 hour, 5 day week Mon-Fri. However, this role includes regular extended working hours and weekends (with weekdays off in Lieu) within our busy events program.
