Job Summary/Responsibility: -

The role of the Trainee Workshop Assistant is an interesting, varied and at times, challenging role.

You will be a key player in a small team, working with the Workshop Manager to ensure that all circuit activities are run to a high standard in terms of safety, customer experience and efficiency.

A Trainee Workshop Assistant at Buckmore differs from some other circuits as we are involved in a wide range of essential operational functions including interacting with our customers to ensure they have a great experience at our circuit, showing diplomacy and professionalism whilst fulfilling an essential operational role is key to our success. Buckmore Park has a one-team approach so, although you will be working in the Workshop Department, there will be times when you may be asked to help out in other areas to ensure that customer service is never compromised. You will be required to keep up to date with changes, and comply with the company's Employee and Safety Handbooks, including working to the companies processes and procedures.

Duties

  • Upkeep of the existing fleet of karts
  • Washing karts
  • Transporting karts around the site
  • Regular Kart Maintenance, mechanical checks and repairs carried out
  • Use of stock control system
  • Fuelling karts
  • Communicating effectively with all departments
  • Keeping administration up to date

Person Specification

  • Be flexible within your working hours; Buckmore is open 7 days a week throughout the year and can operate between the hours of 7.30am - 23.00 - your shifts will include evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Work Environment

  • Be happy to work in all weather conditions and stand for long period of time
  • Be able to physically get in and out of karts and move heavy loads
  • Maintain a duty of care to self and others in ensuring health and safety is maintained at all times within the working environment
  • Maintain a very high level of housekeeping and control standards at all times

Essential Criteria

  • Full UK driving licence (due to location and working hours)
  • Previous mechanical experience
  • Good standard of literacy and numerical skills
  • Physically fit and able to maintain physical standard to prescribed level
  • Ability to work weekends, early and late shifts as rostered to include unsociable hours

Desirable Criteria

  • Dumper/Reach Truck/First Aid qualification
  • IT skills
  • Interest in Motorsports

  • Hourly paid: Range £6.50 - £8.50 - depending on experience and will increase once training completed. Pay day is the last working day of the month and monies are transferred directly into your account
