Ticket Sales Representative 2020 season

POSITION SUMMARY: 

This position provides a vital role for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and will be responsible for selling group tickets to the INDYCAR Grand Prix, Indianapolis 500, BC39 and Brickyard 400.

SPECIFIC DUTIES: 

• Make up to 400 calls a week. Extensive phone work including incoming, outgoing and follow-up calls to new potential leads and former ticket customers.
• Generate revenue and drive attendance for IMS events including INDYCAR Grand Prix, Indianapolis 500, BC39 and Brickyard 400 to reach individual sales goals and contribute to team goals.
• Exhibit clear understanding and communication of IMS facility, events, and processes to both external and internal personnel.
• Compliance with proven phone presentations and group sales approach.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education
Graduate with bachelor’s degree or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides knowledge and abilities necessary to perform this position.

Skills/Experience
• As a key member of the Group Ticket Sales Team, the candidate must continually demonstrate teamwork, integrity, a GREAT attitude and tremendous work ethic. The candidate must be very pro-active, professionally aggressive, organized, creative, innovative, open-minded and self-motivated.
• Proficiency in basic software programs (word processing and excel).
• Must be creative, enthusiastic and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Travel/Work Hours
No travel.

General office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Candidate must be able to work overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays including Memorial Day and July 4th weekends. Flexibility and adaptability are key skills needed for this role.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Physical demands are light, consisting primarily of sitting, standing and walking. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to see and hear in the normal range with or without correction and communicate verbally and in written form with great facility and must be able to be understood. Must have the stamina to work long hours and must be willing to work an irregular schedule, which may include weekends or evenings.
