Technician – Electrical Loom

Williams Advanced Engineering are currently recruiting for a Technician – Electrical Loom to join our Formula E team on a permanent basis.  Reporting to the Head Systems Electrical Technician, this is a key role where the successful individual will assist in the preparation of electrical harnessing with a view to ensuring all cars, sensors and equipment are built to agreed electrical specification.

Duties include assisting with the build and operation of garage facilities at test events, manufacturing electrical harnesses and ensuring that all assemblies are built to a specific procedure and that build checklists (where applicable) are completed and visible for inspection.

The successful individual will be able to assemble and disassemble race/test cars and components ensuring they are built to the agreed standards and that any discrepancies are highlighted and understood.  They will be required to ensure all faults are reported and will assist in identifying ways to improve the department and personnel performance.

The ideal candidate will maintain positive relationships and will strive to achieve a high standard of presentation for the team.  They will complete tasks given within allowable time frames and proactively support others to achieve the same.

To be successful in the role you will be a strong team player and have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, as well as have a flexible attitude towards working hours, a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to solve problems.  Experience of harness build is required and motorsport experience is preferred but not essential.
