Technical Sales Engineer - UK

A full-time opportunity exists to support HP Tuners Europe growth in the European market. The role will be significant in promoting and establishing the presence of HP Tuners within Central Europe.

The new employee will be based in the UK; the primary role will be to develop and grow the home market with support to surrounding countries (France, Benelux, Spain)

HP Tuners:

HP Tuners is a market leading automotive aftermarket ECM/TCM tuning tool provider. Based in Chicago USA, HP Tuners started in 2003 and now employs >40 people. HP Tuners designs, manufactures and develops the software solutions in house.

A market leader in the USA and Australia, HP Tuners tools enable the end user to “tune” the vehicles ECM and TCM’s to extract performance. HP Tuners do not sell pre-calibrated tunes, merely the tools to develop the vehicles performance

HP Tuners is investing heavily in the European market. A new business will be incorporated in 2019 with the recruitment of an exceptional team of professionals to deliver growth in line with the company objectives. European specific product will be developed adding to the already extensive vehicle range.

The Role:

Reporting to the European Operations Director, you will work in collaboration to develop the UK (and France, Benelux, Spain) Dealer and Distribution Network, duties including and not exclusive:

  • Development of the sales pipeline; individuals, tuner shops, dealers, distributors
  • Develop territory sales forecast; deliver to agreed plan
  • Identify and assist with the documentation of UK (and France, Benelux, Spain) regulatory requirements
  • Identify and document any local support and engineering development requirements
  • Monitor and collate competitor information; products, pricing, technology developments
  • Actively promote HP Tuners brand at promotional events; shows, club meetings, exhibitions etc.
  • Compile event reports and deliver feedback to agreed timelines
  • Demonstrate product whenever possible, supporting customers and potential customers
  • Full training to be provided in USA on commencement • Home based position
  • European travel required
  • Expectation to be out of the office approx. three days per week
  • Ability to travel to USA minimum once a year for annual Company meeting
  • Flexible working hours - weekend work required • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Provide after-sales support services and technical back up as required
  • Arrange and carry out product training as required

The individual:

  • Fluent English, written and verbal - additional languages an advantage
  • Current demonstratable technical hands on knowledge and experience of the automotive ECM/TCM aftermarket tuning sector  
  • Passionate with good communication skills
  • Personable and approachable attitude
  • Professional technical sales credentials – Automotive Sector 
  • Experience in the complete Sales cycle, results oriented
  • Competency in Microsoft products; word, excel, outlook, ppt
  • Sound judgement and good business sense
  • Organizational skills – self-starter, management of own time and priorities
  • The ability to build relationships quickly and effectively
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
