Role Overview

 

The Technical Program Manager, EE Architecture will plan, drive, and track the execution of Fisker’s advanced next generation EE & SW architecture development projects. The TPM will bring together stakeholders from multiple disciplines to build a comprehensive, agile execution plan for developing and validating our next generation EE & SW architectures. The TPM will work closely with the EE Hardware and Software Architecture teams to understand their architecture development projects and help establish a detailed agile execution plan in collaboration with the architecture team as well as several internal/external stakeholders. The TPM will drive and track the execution of the established agile plan and communicate progress to senior leaders. The successful candidate will demonstrate a keen interest and expertise in agile project planning and management, an ability to learn the hardware and software architectures they will be in-charge of delivering, an inclination to drive process innovation, good communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build a unified execution plan for multiple EE hardware and software architecture projects that will be running concurrently. Plan will be a combination of waterfall and agile activities.

  • Create JIRAs for activities to be executed and tracked and build a sprint cadence for working on the JIRAs.

  • Work closely with team leaders as well as several internal/external stakeholders to manage the day-to-day execution of projects according to this plan and sprint cadence.

  • Build technical knowledge in collaboration with the technical leaders and engineers to understand the hardware and software components they are creating.

  • Conduct periodic project reviews with senior leaders and send reports highlighting project progress as well as critical issues that require attention.

  • Publish project status and progress to keep the broader organization informed.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and partners to drive closure of open issues and ensure that the projects are executing as planned.

  • Escalate issues appropriately for transparency and remedial action.

  • Establish knowledge bases and knowledge sharing mechanisms to increase the effectiveness of the teams working on these projects.

  • Record lessons learned, incorporate them into progressive planning exercises.

  • Own the tracking and management of all hardware samples, components, software, and tools that are essential for the execution of these projects.

  • Work closely with the purchasing team to drive the purchasing processes essential for these projects.

  • Be the overall orchestrator of the EE hardware and software projects that are critical for the company’s long-term success.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical domain, including computer science, computer engineering, electrical or electronics engineering.

  • 8 to 12 years of technical program management experience in a fast-paced technology-focused organization.

  • Proven experience with managing projects that involve new hardware design or complex software design or both.

  • Strong familiarity with emerging connected, software-defined vehicle technologies.

  • Strong understanding and experience in waterfall and agile project management.

  • Strong understanding of the project planning process, including Gantt charts, resource management, and critical path identification and management.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in JIRA/JAMA/Confluence as well as Microsoft Project.

  • Must be comfortable with operating in a fast-paced, startup environment.

Preferred Attributes/ Competencies

  • Prior experience managing projects in the Automotive EE space such as Infotainment, Connectivity, or ADAS/Autonomous Driving.

  • Master’s degree in a related technical domain.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel both domestically, as well as internationally, as required
