Technical Manager; Motorsport.TV Live

We are looking for a Freelance Content Producer for Motorsport.TV Live. 

Role Purpose:

Oversee all technical aspects involved in Live Broadcast and Remote Production

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain studio and equipment for broadcasts
  • Set and oversee Cameras, Lighting, Audio and Desk for live transmission
  • Ingest and prepare cloud-based material for programming
  • Establish live feeds into studio via 5G, Zoom, Skype, 5G, etc
  • Vision Mixing output during live programming
  • Operate Switcher for Live Streaming
  • Rectifying any Technical issues speedily during or between broadcasts
  • Feeding back on Workflow, technical equipment and procedures to enable smooth efficient Project Management
  • Backing up and assisting with Logging content material

Key Deliverables:

Our Technical Director will manage the hub of our new live broadcasts overseeing the studio, cameras, lighting, audio, edit packages and live links from various locations. Technically across everything which helps keep the Remote Production operation running smoothly, you should be quick-thinking, able to identify any issues and rectify them calmly, prioritising fixes in order to keep broadcast disruption to a minimum.

You will also oversee setting cameras for studio output, Vision Mixing and ingesting packages from our CMS as well as ‘switching’ for live TX and liaising with our Platform Managers and US studio. As our broadcasts are live, quick thinking and attention to detail are vital.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Thorough knowledge of a live broadcasting environment such as News
  • Keen to work with the latest technology eg cloud-based editing and remote Production
  • Excellent Problem-solving abilities; good communication and teamwork

Knowledge Required:

A knowledge of Motor Sport is essential for candidates along with strong interpersonal skills and an eagerness to learn.

As this is a new project, roles and processes will adapt so candidates should be flexible and relish the opportunity to work in new ways.
