Technical Graphics Developer

We are looking for a talented and motivated Graphics Developer with a strong technical background, to join Formula 1 who can hit the ground running and help take our production to the next level. As part of our graphics team, you will face exciting challenges, develop your skills and help define the next era of Formula 1 broadcasting.

You’ll join a small dynamic team within the Television Production department, where you’ll be developing graphics solutions for one of the world’s premier sporting brands and helping to deliver a world class production. You will get to work in a friendly, rewarding and challenging environment at our Media and Technology Centre and there may some opportunities to travel.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Building data driven interactive graphics using scripting and/or programming languages for use in real-time graphics systems
  • Working with Formula 1’s timing and sports data to develop graphics to be used within the Formula 1 World Feed live broadcast
  • Using industry leading broadcast graphics software and hardware systems to help us enhance Formula 1’s viewing experience
  • Assisting Formula 1’s graphics team at our base and at events to develop our existing graphics operation

About You

The ideal candidate will have working experience in the following areas:

  • A degree in digital media technology, computing, or similar field
  • Experience building graphics that interact with different data types
  • A keen understanding of visualising data using graphics
  • Live broadcast experience in a sports environment
  • Experience using Viz Artist and any of VizRT’s real-time broadcast products or other industry standard broadcast software packages
  • Knowledge how to work with data via applications, data feeds or databases and APIs
  • Solid knowledge of VB Scripting or similar scripting or programming languages
  • Strong design and technical skills
  • Experience using Unreal Engine and Unity
  • Understand the testing and troubleshooting process
  • High level of computer literacy with a sound knowledge of computer hardware, software and networks
  • Great understanding of the project process, team organisation and communication
  • Understand the testing and troubleshooting process
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own time and workloads across multiple projects
