The Company

Life Racing has extensive experience in the design, manufacture, development, and support of a broad range of products including engine control units (ECUs), power distribution units (PDUs), display units, integrated paddle shift systems and high reliability wiring harnesses to all levels and variations of motorsport from WRC to 24hr Le Mans.

Life Racing offers a range of services to support clients including on site and remote support, complete wiring harness solutions and custom electronic design. Extensive control systems experience provides the ability to advise on development from a control strategy perspective leading to better performance in shorter timescales.

Life Racing is based on the Essex/London border. Life Racing presents a small, yet exceptionally talented team driven to reach exceptional standards.

 

The Opportunity

Technical Engineer - An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and highly motivated customer facing technical engineer to join Life Racing. Exact role and rate of pay based on experience.

 

Role outline

  • Technical sales and technical support via technology or face to face

  • Liaising with customers about orders and returns

  • Advising and supporting worldwide distributors with their enquiries

  • Project mgmt. – spec whole vehicle system through to commission of vehicle and continued support

  • Domestic and international travel to customer workshops and race circuits

  • Work with software team to test and provide feedback on new software

  • Create and maintain technical documentation

 

Key Skills / Experience

  • Degree educated - engineering discipline required

  • Knowledge of control systems

  • Knowledge of CAN communications

  • Good level of experience in points above preferable

  • Understanding of LR systems or a competitor system an advantage

  • Essential - good working knowledge of Microsoft packages

  • As a customer facing representative of the company, the successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, engaging confidently and knowledgeably.

 

Hours of work & Benefits

 

Standard full-time working week, 40 hours. When based at Life Racing’s Essex facility, standard office hours are between 8am to 5pm with flexibility to suit personal requirements. Being based at the office is preferable owing to interaction with the software team; hybrid working also optional.

To meet the needs of the role and fast paced nature of the business, the successful candidate will require a flexible approach to working hours.
