The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham has a successful Electric Vehicle Race Team that engages undergraduate and postgraduate students in designing, manufacturing and racing electric cars (Formula Student) and bikes (electric superbike). To strengthen the team we wish to appoint a teaching assistant in electric motorsport who will support the race team in developing car and/or bike for national and international competitions and assist with the supervision of student projects.
Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience in electric vehicle racing including design, manufacture and operation of electric racing vehicles. Specific experience in electric motorbike racing is desirable.
Applicants must be enthusiastic and motivated and hold a degree in a relevant engineering subject. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clarity on complex information, as well as to facilitate conceptual thinking, innovation and creativity, are also essential requirements of the post.

We are looking for someone who can:
- Work with other members of the race team to develop our car and/or bike.
- Support the team as required when the car/bike races
- Supervise student projects in the area of electric racing vehicles including assessment.
- Reflect on their practice and develop their teaching and learning skills.
This permanent post will be available on a part-time basis (18.13 hours per week) and is immediately available. This role may at times require evening/weekend working and travel overseas.
