- Assessment of new product opportunities aligned to business strategy, lead tasks including budgetary and technical feasibility analysis.
- Support program manager in creation of timing plans and ensure that tasks are completed per schedule.
- Plan resources to meet project tasks.
- Responsible for all technical aspects of product development/application development, sign off for production.
- Drive roadmap for cost reduction (HLRR), ensuring that there are solid business cases behind savings.
- Lead Design reviews and ensure Design for Manufacture activities are conducted.
- Review and approve test plans.
- Report technical status at regular review with Engineering Director and with Product Approval Committee (PAC)/ Management Operating review (MOR.).
- Responsible to drive functional excellence in engineering team / drive adherence to NPI process related to engineering activities.
- Clearly define individual roles, responsibilities and objectives for all engineers/designers in the team and provide support and coaching/training to attain goals, foster teamwork and define skill and career development plans.
- Develop "Remanufacturing" Engineering expertise within the team.
- Meet with performance and small OE customers to understand their needs and to review active project status.
