Job Overview:
AMP Kart Racing is seeking a capable and reliable small engine and kart mechanic to work in our Rental Kart Workshop. This position reports to the Racing Services Manager and includes evening and weekend work - weekend availability is a must have as these are the peak hours for our public karting business.
We are looking for a process-driven multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude who will drive efficiency at all levels within the rental kart workshop. You will need to be an adaptable team player ready to find solutions and help improve processes.
A lead mechanic and supervisor role is also an option for the right candidate - this would only be available to someone with the relative experience in both mechanical skills and training, and also in supervision and management of staff.
Compensation: Hourly - based on skills and experience.
Job Description & Duties
- Be knowledgeable and capable of repairing and maintaining Sodi karts according to recommended maintenance schedules, per manufacturer training and specifications
- Test and inspect engines to determine malfunctions, to locate missing and broken parts, verify repairs using diagnostic instruments
- Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and oiling parts and tuning ignition systems
- Document all maintenance and update electronic records in ClubSpeed Garage module
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment

Requirements:
- Passion for racing and motorsports that allows you to smile throughout your shift
- Must have 1+ year prior work experience with the service and repair of small engines
- Preferred experience with Honda power equipment
- Ability to routinely perform functions including bending, reaching, turning, climbing and lifting up to 35 pounds
- Working in a variety of seasonal weather conditions - we have indoor workshops and an outdoor track
- Must be available to work weekends and some select holidays
- A valid driver’s license
