Simulation Development Engineer

Alpine F1 Team have an excellent opportunity to join our team as a Simulation Development Engineer within our Control, Simulation and Modelling Group.

Simulation Development Engineer – The Role

This role will support the development and maintenance of our vehicle models and simulation tools, and be involved in developing complex simulation and optimisation techniques that meet the Team's future simulation requirements. Based within the Simulation Development Group at Enstone, the role will involve collaboration with other members of that group and interaction with members of the Performance Systems Group and Race Team to support them in their use of our models and simulation tools.

You will be responsible for delivering alongside other members of the group, hi-fidelity vehicle models and simulation tools (including dynamic & steady state) with the appropriate level of complexity and fidelity to meet the needs of the users in the Performance Systems Group and Race Team. You will provide user support and maintenance for our vehicle models and existing simulation tools. This position also requires an individual to develop complex simulation methodologies, and optimisation techniques that fully exploit our vehicle models and simulation tools to direct car setup and design.

Simulation Development Engineer – The Person

We are looking for individuals with a first-class degree in engineering, mathematics or physics with a strong theoretical mathematical background. An excellent understanding of racing car vehicle dynamics and suspension, tyre & aerodynamic modelling would be an advantage. Experience with optimisation problems, optimal control theory, DYMOLA, and C/C++ coding will provide an advantage.
