To support this exciting growth and development of our Motorsport function we are looking for a Senior Supply Planner to join our Motorsport Purchasing & Logistics team and deliver a proactive service to our production & development teams ensuring all components and parts reach their required areas on time.
Purpose of the role:
As Senior Supply Planner you will be responsible for ensuring that the Material Controllers have appropriate information regarding requirements and priorities to ensure the suppliers deliver on time and in full. You will need to work with the series Supply Planners in the main production facility to ensure that Motorsport demand is accounted for and achieved.
The business is increasing the number of programmes and annual volumes meaning the complexity of our logistics activities are also significantly increasing. This role is pivotal in ensuring our schedules and supply information is stable and accurate.
Principal accountabilities:
- Supervise members of the team; ensuring workload is appropriately shared between members of the function in order to meet all expected deliverables
- Act as a point of escalation for team members; to assist them in finding a resolution and providing feedback on that resolution to the relevant business functions, their manager and other senior managers as appropriate
- Where applicable, contribute to or carry out appraisals for team members
- Use MRP to balance demand and supply, creating a delivery plan that satisfies the combined requirements of production, development and any other sources, keeping inventory within approved limits
- Work closely with the Material Controllers to ensure the suppliers have committed to the schedules, and where necessary work together to create and implement achievable recovery plans
- Pro-actively identifying, escalate and address risks to production requirements, supplier lead times, schedule stability, planned inventory levels and warehousing capacities
- Support change control activities ensuring that Motorsport demand is taken into account during any series changes and the inventory is managed to satisfy the demand
- Management of MRP parameter data to deliver the correct inventory levels and stability to McLaren’s Operations.
- Manage schedules against KPIs measuring all factors which affect materials and production planning.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
- Confident in dealing with stakeholders, in ensuring the requirements of the department and wider business are met
- Understanding of Automotive OEM supply chains and supplier manufacturing processes
- Experience of working with MRP and or SAP is essential
- Strong excel and data interpretation skills
- Comprehensive grasp of planning principles and objectives
- Proven ability to make sound and logical decisions
- Structured and organised approach to the management of work
