Senior Finance Business Partner

The position:

We are looking to recruit a dynamic and ambitious Senior Business Partner who is looking to develop and progress their career. This opportunity will suit an individual who wants to deliver change and add value both within the Finance team and the wider business.

The role:

This role will be responsible for providing analysis, insight and support for decision making, process improvements and delivery of the organisation's strategic objectives. This role will deliver a transformative change to the value that the finance department delivers to the business with the sole aim of improving the team's performance and efficiency across the board.

Core competencies:

Business Partnering

Work closely with, support, influence and challenge assigned business unit managers providing 'real time' support and analysis
Support managers with budget compliance and hold regular finance reviews with department managers and Management Committee members, analysing adherence to budgets and forecast
Support FP&A Analyst with cash flow forecasting, providing timely and accurate updates based on the latest business strategy and activity
Capex investment appraisals
Proactively engage with stakeholders and use commercial experience and acumen to challenge established ways of working to drive improvements and support stakeholder initiatives

Reporting

Prepare regular, timely and insightful reporting including monthly management accounts, Capex and headcount for assigned departments
Develop appropriate financial presentation material for business reviews
Strong communication skills comfortable presenting to Senior Management
Identify opportunities to drive improvement in reporting
Coordinate and prepare detailed planning, budgeting, forecasting, forecasting and analysis processes for the assigned departments and working with the rest of the Business Partnering and FP&A Team, consolidate into an overall view for the business

Delivering Change

Design and deliver efficiency improvement programmes
Ensure quality of data within finance systems including developing controls where necessary
Ensure compliance with relevant governance procedures

Core Skills:

Qualified Accountant with a strong academic record
Demonstrable reporting and analysis expertise
Experience working with multiple stakeholders across different departments
Engineering background or experience working in manufacturing or technology based industry is desirable
Excellent attention to detail
Demonstrable ability to challenge the status quo, solve problems and deliver innovation
Enjoys working both autonomously and as part of a team and experience managing direct reports is desirable
Able to take full ownership for identifying and solving financial issues
Leads by example, proactively taking on responsibility as required
Tenacious, reliable and flexible attitude to work
Able to communicate financial matters to the business with clarity and transparency
