Senior Engineer - Controls and Calibration

Duties / Responsibilities (Including Objectives of the role):

The role:

As Senior Engineer – Control & Calibration, you’ll help drive forward and develop our engine and gearbox control and diagnostic strategies for Lotus products and 3rd party engineering customers. Working on key projects at the driving force of our products, you’ll be involved in the hands-on delivery of our calibration development programmes, working on performance and emissions related Powertrain systems controls.

This role will see you heavily involved on a day-to-day basis in ECU & TCU calibration using Inca and ETAS development tools.

You’ll also plan and carry out testing in simulation, testbed, lab and vehicle environments, reporting and providing technical recommendations based on the results.

There will also be opportunity for project management/ leadership as your skills grow within the organisation.

About you:

You’ll be degree educated in Engineering or equivalently experienced in industry and bring with you experience in Engine Calibration, ideally with Bosch ME7/ME17/MED17/MDG1, plus control strategy design and development. You’ll need a thorough understanding of automotive legislative requirements.

Ideally, you will have some knowledge of advanced powertrain developments with an emphasis on CO2 reduction.

You’ll need to be highly analytical, with a knack for problem solving. This role is heavy on detail, so we’re looking for someone who is meticulous in their approach to their work.
