Job Description

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Senior Director, Executive Protection.

This person is tasked with organizing, planning, and executing close protection for top leadership and senior executives. The position reports to the Managing Director of NASCAR Security and works in close collaboration with the leaders of Event and Track/Facility Security. This position is responsible for providing efficient and high-quality support directly to top leadership and executives while safeguarding other corporate assets.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Execute the day-to-day operations of the Executive Protection Program.
  • Conduct protective advance operations
  • Oversee third-party and vendor protection services.
  • Maintain proficiency in the use of protective equipment and weapons.
  • Work in environments and under conditions that require carrying authorized weapons and ammunition, the use of protective gear and devices, and awareness of personal safety and safety of others.
  • Utilize rapid and effective judgment in responding to unusual or emergency situations using appropriate escalation of force level and physical response as the situation may warrant, which could require employee to run quickly and for long distances, shield and protect VIPs, and take other physical preventive and/or reactive measures.
  • Plan and evaluate physical security for executives, families, and guests.
  • Provide logistical support at events and for travel for executives and guests / families.
  • Manage security support at executive hosted and attended non-race events.
  • Coordinate with various department procedures and policies for executive protection when planes, boats and other company assets are in use by executives or their guests.
  • May be required to response to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Administer first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when needed.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with emergency services and other corporate entities.
  • Protect all corporate information and physical assets wherever they are located.
  • Interpret common security, technical and scientific information.
  • Maintain professional contacts with vendors, technical representatives, and comparable organizations, as to be constantly knowledgeable about the latest security applications and issues.
  • Coordinate closely with local and federal law enforcement agencies, public safety entities, and security officials in related agencies to ensure good local community relations on security issues.

Required skills / experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years’ experience in law enforcement, executive protection and/or logistics experience.
  • Must possess knowledge of first aid and CPR, public safety and law enforcement.
  • Must have working knowledge of electronic security and protection systems, general security methods and security equipment.
  • Must have experience in physical security, law enforcement or related field, sufficient to meet the minimum requirements for state and local licensing.
  • Meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing and permit requirements for armed security work and specific protective device and weapons qualifications. Must qualify under federal HR 218 (Law Enforcement Safety Act).
  • Must have good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain working relationships across different groups within and outside of the organization
  • Ability to travel up to 80%, including weekends
