Senior Design Engineer - Mechanical

The position:

We are currently seeking an ambitious, experienced Senior Design Engineer - Mechanical to join our F1 Mechanical Design group, working on a wide variety of projects.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Concept design through to detailing of mechanical, hydraulic and composite components and assemblies with a focus on suspension design.

  • Calculation work and production of system documentation.

  • Conduct design reviews independently or with the Principal Engineer / Head of Department.

  • Demonstrate significant experience to be drawn on by others, be a point of contact for support and mentorship.

  • End-to-end ownership for projects incorporating manufacture, build, testing and racing, including fault analysis and resolution requiring close collaboration with the wider team.

  • Support checking responsibility for detailed drawings, including design review against specification and previous designs.

  • Driving continuous improvement and promote autonomous creativity.

  • Some international travel may be required.

 

The candidate will have an in-depth understanding of fundamental engineering principles and have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification supported by design experience in motorsport, aerospace or a related field. Experience with simulation and basic stress calculations would also be advantageous. Strong CAD skills are necessary, ideally, with experience of NX, however training will be provided for conversion from other CAD systems. Some data analysis experience would also be beneficial.
