We are currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer, Composites to join them on a permanent basis. You will work within the Energy Storage System (ESS) design project team, and will be responsible for conceptual and detail design of metallic and composite parts including any manufacturing tooling required, experimental parts, rig testing and calculations/experimentation. As a senior member of the design team you will provide technical leadership as well as guidance to the design team.
Key competencies:
o 7 years’ experience of working in motorsport (ideally F1) or another cutting edge industry.
o Ability to create complex designs from schemes through to finished drawings including material selection, ply book, tooling and any test equipment required.
o Ability to lead other team members in composites design.
Advantageous:
o Experience of high powered electrical system design and composite selection to suit.
o Knowledge of F1 PU installations.
o NDT processes for structural composites.
o Experience of packing complex interrelated assemblies.
o Mechanical design experience.
