Role Overview

At the heart of Fisker’s visionary product lies a state-of-the-art Powertrain and Thermal system – and you can play a central role in its delivery.  The Senior Engineer, BMS AUTOSAR works as a member of the High Voltage (HV) Battery Team and will be responsible for creating and establishing the software architecture of the BMS control system, as well as integrating the control algorithm with the basic software.

Fisker is a fast-moving technologically focused startup, and in this context, you will need considerable flexibility and adaptability to deal with the rapidly developing requirements at the leading edge of EV Thermal and Powertrain implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the complete AUTOSAR software architecture of the BMS control system by utilizing the appropriate engineering tools and considering the BMS overall requirements.

  • Work with AUTOSAR stack and engineering tools vendor to choose and acquire the tools (versions, maintenance, etc.) most suitable for BMS control system.

  • Work with BMS algorithm team members to support the identification of the correct software functions and their associated architecture (interfaces, ports, etc.) to result in the correct files (.arxml).

  • Configure AUTOSAR stack, MCAL, and other configuration files (e.g., DBC and other files) and generate the required BSW, RTE, and Software Component files.

  • Support the algorithm team to complete the resulting Software Component files.

  • Own all BMS software and integrations issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.  Master of Science is preferred.

  • 4 to 7 years of experience in Software Architecture for Automotive control systems.

  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in AUTOSAR architecture.

  • Experience in Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL) testing for Battery Management Systems (BMS).

  • Experience in Requirement Management software tools. 

  • Experience in Validation and Verification (V&V) tools, including Software-In-The-Loop (SIL), Hardware-In-The-Loop (HIL), and vehicle level validation.

  • Familiarity with BMS / HV battery standards.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel both domestically and internationally, as required.

  • Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends where needed to meet deadlines and company goals.

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.
