NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Senior Analyst, Research and Insights based in our Charlotte, North Carolina office.

The Senior Analyst, Research & Insights is responsible for the development and execution of qualitative and quantitative market research activities and insights across a variety of functions, including television insights, sponsorship research, sales research, and other market research.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide key television insights and context to internal and external to inform decisions intended to help meet various business goals and objectives.
  • Perform syndicated data pulls across a variety of tools (Nielsen, Nielsen Scarborough, MRI-Simmons, Meltwater) to help answer questions pertaining to viewership, sponsorship valuation, fan base research, sales research, and general market/consumer research.
  • Contribute to a variety of Research & Insights disciplines by participating on multiple wide-ranging projects.
  • Deliver insights through direct presentations and solicit feedback to adjust projects to best meet Stakeholder needs; work and collaborate, in close partnership, with business units across the organization.
  • Quickly and appropriately react to ad hoc requests.
  • Create impactful, relevant, and visually appealing research summaries and dashboards highlighting key insights; prepare reports for important stakeholders.
  • Stay “tuned in” to both the company’s races and the sports world at large; watch or follow the company’s races, and other live sporting events, on a year-round basis.
  • Build rapport and frequently communicate with data partners; seek out contemporary trends in the research space and ensure accuracy of deliverables from vendors.
  • Continuously challenge yourself, and continuously work to provide answers around “why” something happened and not just “what” happened.

Required skills / experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in in Insights, Analytics, Market Research, Marketing, or similar fields.
  • Experience in sports and entertainment industry is highly preferred, as well as demonstrated experience using syndicated research tools.
  • This position requires excellent computer skills and proficiency with company provided hardware and software.
  • Advanced expertise with Excel required.
  • Able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment while possessing an elevated level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of the importance of data and how effective analysis of data produces critical business insights.
  • Proficiency in Nielsen television tools, or other market research platforms such as Nielsen Scarborough, MRI-Simmons, etc., is a plus.
  • Knowledge of other industry tools such as ComScore, Kantar, etc., is preferred.
