Senior Aerodynamic Correlation Engineer

We are looking to recruit an experienced and progressive individual to help improve our analysis of aerodynamic correlation between track, wind tunnel and CFD. The successful candidate will be skilled at analysing and leveraging the information from CFD data to generate understanding of the differences measured between wind tunnel and track.

Senior Aerodynamic Correlation Engineer - The Role

The role will involve running and analysing the results of CFD simulations of configurations run at the track for comparison to wind tunnel and track in order for us to understand aero performance deltas and correlation implications. The role will also involve the definition of our pressure arrays used in the wind tunnel and track to improve the fidelity and coverage of our comparisons.

This role affords the successful candidate a very broad scope for analysis across the three aerodynamic domains. The conclusions from the analysis conducted should influence the directions taken by several groups including the aero development group, CFD group, trackside aero group and experimental aero group. Within this role the variety and potential to contribute to understanding is extensive and the successful candidate will be given sufficient freedom to capitalise on this.

Senior Aerodynamic Correlation Engineer - The Person

Previous experience as an F1 aerodynamicist, F1 CFD engineer or within an F1 aerodynamic performance analysis group is a pre-requisite. The ideal candidate would have a background in CFD but have also had some experience with experimental aerodynamics either in a wind tunnel or trackside aero. The position will involve the use of CATIA V5, MATLAB and Atlas and therefore experience with these packages would be advantageous but not essential.

If you are an experienced F1 aerodynamicist/CFD engineer with the required skill set but want a role with more breadth, variety and potential to expand the methods used, then please apply.
