Responsibilities
-
Responsible for all inbound parts shipping into the vehicle manufacturing facility ensuring on time delivery within budget for all incoming material

Train and develop designated Logistics team to have a working knowledge of main operational tasks for their role (i.e. quoting, booking, tracking, and auditing invoices)

Drive engagement of Third-Party Logistics partners imbedding a full understanding of their main objectives and the impact of their operational tasks on attainment of business KPIs

Promote the importance of teamwork and a positive work environment

Pro-actively determine any anticipated shortfall in relation to Customers’ expectations and work with appropriate parties to resolve

Drive ongoing communication with Key contacts to build a capable team

Manage process failures to ensure that Logistics contacts work with suppliers to implement effective corrective actions

Identify and report to management potential customer and/or supplier concerns
-
Manage customs, VAT, duties and international trade compliance to ensure best in class standards

Strong focus on sustainability and minimizing environmental impacts
Requirements

Bachelors’ Degree required, Masters’ Degree Preferred
-
10+ years’ experience in transportation, logistics management in automotive
-
Prior experience managing Consolidation Center Operations in China preferred
-
Customer-service mindset with an exceptional “can-do” and service-oriented attitude
-
Proven organizational skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail while handling multiple, simultaneous projects under deadline pressure

Superior verbal and written communication skills

Proficient working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and SAP preferred
-
Strong strategic thinking and honed analytical skills - able to help others make connections and see the big picture

Familiar with common international certification related industry standards

Must have a balance of both reactive and proactive characteristics

Global mindset with experience working in an international/multi-cultural matrix environment

Experience leading diverse and remote teams

Multi-lingual (English, German, moderate understanding of Mandarin is highly preferable
