PURPOSE

 

  • To oversee and ensure all DO releases are correct and assigned appropriately within IFS
  • To provide pre requirement information of releases to project engineers and Procurement staff allowing for speedy reaction to full release
  • Ensure that RO’s are processed with 1 day of DO release
  • Provide the production control area with a considered Make V’s Buy decision
  • Manage the PDM process

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • To intercept the drawing releases from DO and perform the initial quality check ensuring all elements are correct and suitable for release to production.
  • Using knowledge of the systems conduct the Make V’s Buy decision and inform the relevant procurement and project engineers as well as information tom the relevant production managers.
  • Oversee and improve the PDM process ensuring that RO’s are processed within a suitable timeframe and do not slow the production and supply of parts to the race team.
  • Develop and implement improved control systems and feedback loops for improved drawing accuracy.
  • Create information flow systems that allow for pre release information to be given to the production areas so as to prepare in advance speeding up delivery and quality of products.
  • Set realistic on time delivery targets for in house and external product in line with Programme managements master plans

 

Skills & Knowledge Required

 

  • Possess an excellent working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Previous experience of managing and developing production systems
  • To be self-motivated and to motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment
  • Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales
  • To communicate effectively, positively and respectfully with all colleagues
  • To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment

The role will be based at the Silverstone Factory / Brackley premises however there may be a requirement to travel as and when requested to meet the requirements of the Company.
