Power Unit Integration Designer

Renault Sport Racing have an excellent opportunity to join our team at a tremendously exciting time in our history within Formula 1.   As we continue to grow as a team, we are looking for a highly talented individual to join the Power Unit Integration team as a Power Unit Integration Designer.  

Power Unit Integration Designer – The Role

Reporting to the Head of Power Unit Integration the successful candidate will take ownership of a particular mechanical design system. This could be the scheming and detailing of mechanical systems and components (such as hydraulic, fuel, engine installation & cooling, driver controls, electrical packaging etc.). In addition, while it is not required that you should be a composites specialist you should be confident to design non-structural composite material components (such as oil tanks, fuel collectors, cooling ducts etc.). Your duties will also include specifying and detailing any necessary tooling, jigs or testing fixtures.

Power Unit Integration Designer – The Person

We are looking for an individual who has experience of working in a design role in motorsport, preferably in an F1 team.  Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail are a must, alongside the ability to work under pressure.

As part of our Design team we have high expectations of a candidate’s engineering abilities. In particular candidates must be able to demonstrate:

• An understanding of implications on overall car performance when balancing design criteria
• Experience of being a senior specialist/technical expert for a defined part of the car
• A proven and pro-active fault implementation approach
• A track record of high standards/ownership for all aspects of work delivered

Candidates must be self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision and delivering high quality designs to crucial deadlines.
