PD Launch Manager

Purpose of the Role

 

This role is part of the Vehicle Development department supporting a cross department and collaborative workstream ensuring a smooth launch of new products jointly together with the Program Team and Production.

As a Launch Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead Launch of new products in MPC jointly together with the Program Manager and Production
  • Prepare the launch phase in terms of pulling cross functional Team together, monitor and push key program metrics outlining launch readiness.
  • Establish best practise in terms of joint collaboration in MPC.
  • Define standards and meeting etiquette for future launches
  • Ensure products are in line with attribute sign off standard for program
  • Track Parts availability and quality level shortfalls and mitigation plans together with Logistics and SQA.
  • Monitor, manage and track technical Resolution of Launch issues in MPC

In this role, you’ll have both managerial and technical responsibilities, meaning that a strong technical leadership will be required for you to be successful in this position.

 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Technical leadership in the business for Vehicle Development Launch Support
  • Ensure future launch projects are in line with launch requirements jointly together with Production launch leader and Vehicle Program Manager
  • Ensure data analysis toolchain and databases are continuously improved and correctly used
  • Successful implementation of SPOC for PD Launch topics
  • Headcount management during Launch
  • Main interface with Program Team and Production Launch Team

Knowledge, skills and experience for position

  • Automotive Engineering degree, with excellent knowledge and understanding in total Vehicle Development
  • Beneficial to have more than 10 years experience in Vehicle Development at direct OEM or Automotive supplier
  • Experience with Suppliers Quality tracking tools as well as Manufacturing processes.
  • More specifically, the required skills and level knowledge for this role are:
    • Management Skills – High Level
    • Presentation Skills – High Level
    • APQP – Basic Level
    • Production system fundamentals – Basic Level
    • Vehicle Software control systems – Good Level
    • SW calibration tools – Basic Level
    • CAN network architecture – Basic Level

Education

  • Mechatronics / Automotive Engineering Master Degree
  • Manufacturing Engineering knowledge advantageous
  • High competency in written and oral English language
  • Excellent presentation skills
