Pattern Finisher

Purpose of the Role:

  • Blocking up all pattern work produced in the workshops
  • Hand finishing and prep of finished machined pattern work, Carbon inserts and Rohacell cores
  • The manufacture and installation of all pattern dam boards
  • Assist with other activities to ensure compliance with department process

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Responsibillity for all aspects of pattern preparation produced internally
  • Responsibility for the storage area of raw material, to ensure all areas are kept to the Mclaren standards
  • Blocking and gluing up of all patternwork manufactured
  • Ensures delivery of completed parts and patterns in a finished state to inpection
  • Ensures all department procedures amd policies are understood and followed
  • Understanding and compliance with all matters relating to health and safety

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Experienced in the production and finishing of patternwork
  • Has worked within a patternshop environment and is fully skilled to use woodworking tools to manufacture and install return boards to finish patterns
  • Experience in the preparation and assembly of pattern work prior to painting
  • Good understanding of engineering practices
  • Able to read engineering drawings
  • Experience in tooling and fixture assembly and use of bench and hand tools
  • Working knowledge of microsoft software packages
