Purpose of the Role:
- Blocking up all pattern work produced in the workshops
- Hand finishing and prep of finished machined pattern work, Carbon inserts and Rohacell cores
- The manufacture and installation of all pattern dam boards
- Assist with other activities to ensure compliance with department process
Principal Accountabilities:
- Responsibillity for all aspects of pattern preparation produced internally
- Responsibility for the storage area of raw material, to ensure all areas are kept to the Mclaren standards
- Blocking and gluing up of all patternwork manufactured
- Ensures delivery of completed parts and patterns in a finished state to inpection
- Ensures all department procedures amd policies are understood and followed
- Understanding and compliance with all matters relating to health and safety
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Experienced in the production and finishing of patternwork
- Has worked within a patternshop environment and is fully skilled to use woodworking tools to manufacture and install return boards to finish patterns
- Experience in the preparation and assembly of pattern work prior to painting
- Good understanding of engineering practices
- Able to read engineering drawings
- Experience in tooling and fixture assembly and use of bench and hand tools
- Working knowledge of microsoft software packages
