Multi-Body Simulation & Structural Dynamics Engineer

The MBS and Structural Dynamics role is responsible for understanding and controlling the dynamic interactions of the chassis, suspension, transmission and individual components. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for someone who enjoys performing static and dynamic simulation in order to predict loads, solve challenging dynamic problems and influence component designs. As a result, you’ll be directly impacting the production of a fast, light and reliable F1 racing car that can win championships.

This central and varied role will see the successful candidate performing complex Multi-Body Simulation (full vehicle and transmission) and Finite Element Analysis, as well as overseeing the rig testing of components and analysing/interrogating telemetry data.

Role Dimensions:

The role is a full time position and is based at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking. Forming part of the Structural Design Team, you’ll also be working closely with Design and Vehicle Simulation

About You:

A degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering or relevant subject is desired, as well as industry experience of Multi-Body Simulation (preferably Simpack or Adams), vibration or vehicle dynamics. You’ll use your engineering skills and creativity to achieve the required performance parameters, and ensure that stringent safety & durability requirements are satisfied. We are also looking for someone who has a good understanding of fatigue and durability of metals, and has basic CAD skills.
