Job Description

Power Systems Division is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Mechanical Designer within the sustaining Engineering Team to focus on continuous improvement of our engine driven products. This position requires exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with engineering, operations, manufacturing, customer service and marketing teams to efficiently support our products.

Essential Functions:

  • Solid part modeling, detailing, and creating assemblies using Solidworks 2016 or higher
  • Creating/maintaining prints using Solidworks 2016 or higher
  • Drafting and design of various machine components
  • Proper use of mechanical detailing standards and procedures including geometric tolerancing
  • Fluent using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Create and present team design reviews

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in a mechanically oriented course for drafting and design
  • 3-5+ years of experience in mechanical drafting & design
  • Proficient in computer design skills including SolidWorks, PDM Professional, and AutoCAD
  • Sheet metal, plastics, and aluminum casting/extruding drafting/design experience
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and able to work independently on multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines
  • Ability to select, analyze, test materials for design based on durability and cost effectiveness
