The position: reports to the Mechanical & Systems Team Leader or their designee; is located in Maranello (Modena), Italy. Responsible for the design of F1 chassis related components and mechanical assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
- Design of F1 chassis related components and mechanical assemblies.
- Activity consists in the study and design of components through solid modeling, surface modeling and 2D drawing with the aim of obtaining high-performance, reliable solutions and optimized sizing.
- The main items of the design are suspensions, wheels, hydraulic systems, fuel and cooling systems, including the equipment for the homologation of the car and its handling on the ground (i.e. legality checks, equipment for pit stop, etc.).
- Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
- Other duties as assigned by their Manager.
Education and Work Experience:
- Must be graduate in Mechanical Engineering with more than 3 years of work experience, where at least a year must have been in a professional motorsport environment (F1 is the preferred one). Education and work experience in mechanical design is the key, composite engineering education is also a very good add on.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- Communication, ability to work under pressure, self-motivation, time management, conflict resolution, adaptability, willingness to learn, etc.
- Capable of working in a team environment to a very high standard and a positive work attitude.
- Knowledge of the correct method to use tools and equipment.
Equipment and Applications:
- CAD Systems: CATIA V5/V6 – 3DX.
- PLM: Windchill - 3DX.
