McLaren Racing 60 Scholars Programme

McLaren Racing is excited to launch 60 Scholars, a new programme to encourage and support the next generation of female leaders in STEM. 60 scholars is named to mark McLaren Racing's 60th anniversary and aims to inspire 60 aspiring female STEM leaders through an accelerated course of learning and mentorship. The programme is supported by three Founding Partners: Google, Cisco and Cadence, all of whom are leaders in their fields and who strive to empower women into STEM careers.

The programme is searching for 60 women, aged 18-23, based in the UK who wish to be a leader in a STEM industry in the future. If you have studied, or are studying, a STEM subject and wish to pursue a career in a STEM industry this programme is designed to fast-track your career, whether that’s in software, technology, engineering, data or other STEM related careers.

The programme will take place between June and September 2023 and will consist of a series of events that the 60 successful scholars will have unique access to:

Application process

The application process to secure a place on the 60 Scholars cohort is made up of two parts:

  1. An initial application outlining your eligibility along with a short 250-word submission around why you want to be a future leader in STEM.
  2. If your initial application is successful, we will ask you to complete three short self-recorded video interview questions (don’t worry – you’ll have the ability to practice on the platform ahead of recording your answers!). Please note that you will have three days to complete these questions once sent, if we don’t receive your completed videos in that time, we will assume you are no longer interested in the programme
  3. The team will then review your video interview answers and we will then select our cohort. We will communicate this with the successful applicants by June 20 2023.

Please note that securing a place on the programme is not an offer of employment, work experience or an internship. The programme is a series of events and workshops that you will have exclusive access to as a cohort and is unpaid, but McLaren will support travel expenses for the in-person event at the McLaren Technology Centre.
