Mathematical Modeller

Alpine F1 Team have an exciting opportunity within the Mathematical Modelling group. The role of Mathematical Modeller will consist of tackling a variety of problems for different areas of the company.

Mathematical Modeller – The Role

Within this role, you will be reporting to the Head of Mathematical Modelling and will use computational & mathematical methods to solve a range of interesting modelling and data analysis problems within the company. Problems will encompass a wide variety of engineering disciplines and will often be at the leading edge of development, but always with the objective of improving our real-world car performance.

You will assist and advise the Vehicle Performance Group in developing modelling and data analysis methodologies. The individual will also solve problems in areas of mathematical modelling, machine learning and data analysis, as required by the team’s priorities.

Mathematical Modeller – The Position

We are looking for a very bright STEM/PhD graduate with first class or equivalent from a very good University, and the ability to produce good quality code to solve problems. You will have demonstrable experience in developing modelling/data analysis solutions to real world problems, ideally using bespoke code developed from first principles. Matlab/Python experience plus experience in C Programming languages would be an advantage.

For this position, fantastic problem-solving abilities, an aptitude for first-principle understanding of problems, and an appetite for continuous learning will be key.
