Material Controller

To support this exciting growth and development of our Motorsport function we are looking for a Material Controller to join our Motorsport Purchasing team and deliver a proactive service to our production & development teams ensuring all components and parts reach their required areas on time.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Managing a supplier portfolio, ensuring adherence to KPIs in line with production requirements, supplier lead times, and warehousing capacities
  • Continuously being aware of, and pro-actively addressing potential or actual shortages
  • Creation and reporting of internal KPIs and management reports
  • Drive continual improvement in the way the team operates across the business to incorporate improved lean practices
  • Close liaison with other disciplines within the logistics organisation, as well as other departments (especially purchasing and engineering).
  • Planning and providing logistical support on new model projects / option introductions.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Strong and consistent approach to driving governance and processes
  • Familiarity with operating metrics to drive performance
  • Confident in presenting strategies with required analysis and business case
  • Ability to drive results whilst working across a wide range of stakeholders including purchasing, planning and manufacturing
  • Dynamic individual with the ability to respond to challenging situations in an innovative manner
  • Excellent understanding of supply chain management
  • Previous experience within the manufacturing industry, especially automotive serial production, would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience of working in project teams to deadlines
