Marketing Executive

Job title: Marketing Executive   
 
W Series, the ground-breaking motor racing championship for female drivers only, is recruiting a Marketing Executive to help us grow our brand. The ideal person will be curious about working for an exciting start-up business and will have an interest in women’s sport and extensive marketing experience. 
 
Purpose of role:  

  • Reporting to and working alongside the Marketing Manager, develop and grow the W Series brand   
  • Support and manage the daily W Series marketing activities across areas such as guest programmes, event hospitality, race weekends, consumer and trade events, as well as the overall ongoing delivery of branded collateral and apparel 

Principal accountabilities:   

  • Help design W Series marketing material as guided by the Marketing Manager and support the marketing team in campaign development and delivery, product promotion and overall project management   
  • Manage the guest race programme, alongside any external agency, including the coordination of invites, guest liaison, welcome pack production and distribution, ensuring all parties are fully appraised of event information and logistics 
  • Help manage the design and construction of fan zones, event stand and all supporting material, including show car logistics, at the race weekends  
  • Provide hospitality support, including helping to manage the look and feel and overall guest experience at WHQ. During races, work as part of the hospitality team and act as guest liaison  
  • Coordinate the design and production of team apparel, and other licensed merchandise, working closely with M+L agents, suppliers and partners to ensure a frictionless process  
  • Manage gifting and gift bags to guests and partners on race days and throughout the season as required  
  • Supervise the sign off of marketing literature and campaigns, liaising with legal and compliance personnel, ensuring the designs and messages meet the company brand and regulatory guidelines  
  • Investigate latest industry developments, specifically in the fields of sports and entertainment marketing, including the latest media activities and sponsorship activation, ensuring relevant colleagues are kept abreast of these activities  
  • Check and approve accurate marketing copy and establish a reliable process for ensuring core brand assets are approved by the business
  • Support the Marketing Director and Marketing Manager in a range of marketing initiatives to help drive fan engagement with W Series  

Knowledge, skills and experience: 

  • A minimum 3 years experience working within a company marketing department or agency, ideally within a sporting team, club or governing body   
  • Experience in managing agencies and numerous internal and external stakeholders  
  • A keen understanding of brand marketing and executing brand values  
  • Event experience, preferably within hospitality or guest management   
  • Educated to degree standard, preferably in a relevant academic discipline  
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with the ability to present at senior level  
  • Good copywriting skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy  
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure with good time management
