At Ilmor we specialise in the design, simulation, development and manufacture of powertrain systems, electronics, and software for Motorsport, Automotive and Marine applications. We are innovating at pace in the development of high efficiency, race, and production ready, ICE and EV solutions for both land and sea. Our Northampton based research, development and manufacturing centre is using the latest in 4+1 Axis Mill Turn / Twin Spindle CNC Lathes with Bar Feed.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- DMG lathe twin spindle
- Experience of Siemens Sinumerik Controls
- Minimum 5 years experience in Manufacturing environment using the above controls
- Ability to generate NC code using Sinutrain and OpenMind, with machine tool simulation experience using Vericut a bonus
- Ability to Set and ideally operate machines
- Good understanding of Engineering drawings and GD&T
- Maintaining high standards of documentation / product traceability
- Working to sub 10micron tolerance
- Competent using manual inspection equipment to check own work if required
- Working with Design Engineers to make and suggest improvements to the design processes
- Create methods of manufacture

- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Flexibility for working shifts
- Good communication
Ideal candidates will also have had exposure to / experience of:
- Knowledge and experience of working to AS9100 & ISO9001 Standards
- A background in Aerospace / Automotive / Motorsport Manufacturing
- Leadership abilities to control a small team
