JOB SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineer provides the necessary link between customer requirements and manufacturing processes. Develops and improves manufacturing methods, applies lean concepts and techniques to optimize processes.

REPORTING TO

Manufacturing Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Creates engineering masters for jobs to be manufactured in ERP system.
  • Creates work orders from engineering masters for manufacturing.
  • Assists in the continuous improvement process throughout manufacturing using Lean techniques.
  • Troubleshoots manufacturing issues to resolve production and work in process problems while optimizing efficiency and eliminating downtime.
  • Evaluates process flow and plant layout, recommending and implementing improvements and modifications in sequence of operations and equipment utilization to improve thru-put and reduce labor and manufacturing costs.

SKILLS and ABILITIES

  • Strong technical and analytical ability.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • ERP experience.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft applications and computer skills.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in metal working.
