Purpose of Role

Reporting to the Logistics Business Intelligence Manager within the Logistics Systems and Inventory team, the Business Intelligence Analyst will provide MPC Logistics with operational reporting, KPI analysis and project manage inventory reduction initiatives in line with McLaren Automotive business plan. 

Working in a cross-functional setting, you will contribute to overall departmental goals and company profitability by proactively working closely with Logistics Operations, Logistics Engineering, Production Planning and Material Control.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Gather and analyse data to identify root causes of defects/issues with the next steps of implementing appropriate countermeasures & long-term solutions 
  • Support achievement of the departmental KPIs, ensuring required activities are completed to the required standard in the defined timescales 
  • Support daily meetings and actions from meeting 
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested 
  • Review current business reporting, implementing improvements in quality, production and delivery efficiencies, with ongoing continuous improvements to all team deliverables. 
  • Transition Excel Based Reports to Database driven Power BI reports and dashboards 
  • Take ownership of specific reporting areas and the drive the successful delivery of actions from insights 
  • Support delivery of Year End Inventory targets 
  • Maintain current Logistics Inventory process documentation and update to align with current business operational landscape 
  • Develop and Document new Logistics Inventory processes, and where required, engage all relevant stakeholders across the business 
  • Deliver high levels of automation to provide autonomy for customer reporting, including automated data refreshing, population and delivery 
  • Project manage/develop prototype solutions to mainstream delivery for the user base following the MPM defined process 
  • Provide high levels of ‘future proofing’ for changes/enhancements. 
  • Support and Lead ETL of SAP and BOBJ data into Azure platform and connection of Enterprise tools to Azure data platform 
  • Be a key member of The Logistics Data Management Team and the development of single source of data within Azure, Velocity and any new or emerging technologies. 
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills with ability to communicate with stakeholders, both internally and externally, in ensuring the requirements of the department and wider business are met 
  • Structured and organised approach to the management of work with excellent organizational skills 
  • Proven ability to work within tight deadlines and to be able to manage and prioritise tasks and time efficiently 
  • An ability to apply problem solving techniques to routine situations or situations of moderate complexity under supervision 
  • A team player with good communication skills and the ability to multi-task and operate effectively in a fast paced, ever-changing environment 
  • Experience of working both individually or in project teams 
  • Confident in dealing with stakeholders, ensuring the requirements of the department and wider business are met. 
  • Programming experience for at least one programming language e.g. Python/Java/C#/C++ preferred
