IT Storage Engineer

The position:

We are looking to recruit an IT Storage Engineer to implement and manage Williams Storage and Data Services and ensure a smooth & effective handover to support.

The role:

To provide the resources, expertise, processes and systems necessary to provide Williams with high quality, repeatable, effective project delivery at an appropriate cost
To continually strive to improve Williams IT storage infrastructure and associated services, ensuring technologies are utilised appropriately to provide world class Infrastructure.
To ensure Williams IT storage systems are fully operational at all times and meet the requirements of the business.
To recommend and manage improvements and upgrades to IT Storage and Data infrastructure, processes and procedures.
To work with partners and colleagues across the organisation to deliver world-class IT Services.
To support the IT Infrastructure Manager in developing the group capability & capacity to execute required work.
To provide support to IT Infrastructure Support Technicians.
Provide regular workshops to help develop the skills and knowledge of other IT Operations Group members.
Contribute to an up to date Service Catalogue within their areas of expertise.

Core competencies:

Experience in implementing Dell EMC Isilon and Dell EMC ECS systems in a multi-site environment, including cross-site data replication.
Understanding of core IT technologies such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP etc.
Experience in implementing and managing data backup technologies in a multi-site environment
Ensure effective evaluation of business risks and issues, aligned to IT Risk Management processes as defined in Williams’ IT Risk Charter; taking appropriate and timely action.
Support the IT Infrastructure Manager, to develop the IT Operations Team to meet changing Williams business requirements.
Support other IT Operations Group personnel and help mentor less experienced team members.
Provide recommendations for improvements to any IT services, to the IT Operations Manager.
