Continuous improvement is fundamental to both our business and industry and an experienced IFS ERP Developer is required to help drive and deliver change.

 

Developments, technical requirement capture, workshop facilitation and testing are all considered standard activities for this position, as this role is expected to work as part of a SCRUM team addressing a prioritised backlog.

 

You are expected to have a strong steer for improvements to fit in with industry best practices and out-of-the-box product capabilities where applicable. The role is intended to align and support a delivery team who are involved in a wide range of initiatives across the business and where variety is guaranteed.

 

As an experienced IFS Developer, you will be capable of working in both waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies and using the associated toolset (MS Project, Visio, Jira). Basic project management skills are also vital to the role, as engagements typically require planning, coordination, stakeholder management and reporting on risks, issues, and other management information.

The IFS Developer is an essential role to achieving successful transformation within our business. Our ERP team are expected to have a sound understanding of business process and how data is consumed and used as an enabler for businesses and organisations.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement with business leads and their teams to optimise all facets of the ERP estate and sub-systems.
  • Discovery and mapping of technical requirements, including business needs through conducting process investigations and workshops.
  • Design client-side architecture alongside IT teams and product owners.
  • Own development projects end to end, whilst maintaining thorough documentation.
  • To stay up to date with latest technology, development techniques, and methodologies to ensure AMF1 are maximising ERP potential, also conducting research enabling self-developed prototypes and proof of concepts.
  • Seek opportunities to integrate business systems across other functions and departments in the business to increase efficiency whilst decreasing duplication of work.
  • Support development, testing, and deployment of solutions that meet business capability needs and ensure successful achievement of scope, cost, schedule, quality, adoption, and value outcomes.
  • Supporting the team in the creation of business cases and financial models for digital transformation – in collaboration with relevant SMEs.
  • Be a point of contact for the handover of technical projects delivered by the project team.

 

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Proven track record of identifying and continuing to manage expectations of stakeholders and their business needs with the IT senior leadership team.
  • Experience of working with IFS Application 10, Aurena framework, and IFS Cloud solutions.
  • Interpret functional specifications from product team and translate into a technical specification.
  • Participate in technical design and development of CRIM items ensuring development strategy is both efficient and in line with best practice.
  • Manage and administer the IFS Applications estate.
  • Excellent knowledge of PL/SQL programming, continuously reviewing and evolving current custom event-based functions leading to greater automation of repetitive tasks.
  • Proficient in Data Migration using all data source types.
  • Manage and develop the Aurena Touch Apps solution.
  • RestAPI and IFS Projection knowledge to enable ETL functions for integration and reporting stack
  • Proven experience of integrating IFS Application with core systems using IFS Connect, Custom Events, and iPaaS solutions.
  • Experience of working as part of a distributed team following structured DevOps processes desirable.
  • Knowledge of all major front-end and development languages including HTML.5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery, alongside understanding of WEB API, encryption, and IT security.
  • Thorough understanding of IFS business logic to determine best approach on CRIM items.
  • Knowledge of data modelling and reporting tools and work closely with stakeholders to deliver a focused set of reports to the business.
  • Management of Jira ticketing system to diagnose and resolve technical system issues.
  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities with a passion for self-learning.
  • Experience in driving and managing Continuous Improvement of processes.
  • Supported a Modern Workplace or Digital Transformation in your current role.
  • Good written, presentation and facilitation skills, with good working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Visio, and Jira.
  • Passion for change and demonstrable experience in improving ways of working through modern technology.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

 

 

The role will be based at the Silverstone Factory / Brackley premises however there may be a requirement to travel as and when requested to meet the requirements of the Company.
