Human Resource Generalist

RallySport Direct / APG has an immediate opening for an experienced HR Generalist.

The position will be located in Salt Lake City, UT or Rexburg, ID.

The Human Resource Generalist will be a key member of the Human Resource team. They will be responsible for overseeing all benefit and payroll functions including day to day supervision of the HR Specialist, benefit administration, compliance, and payroll processing. In addition, they will be responsible for policy and procedure development and revisions, compliance, wellness initiates, employee’s communication and other HR initiates. This position has a high level of independent judgment and decision making and reports to the Human Resources Director.

Benefits

  • Oversee benefits administration for all company plans including enrollment, communications, benefit reconciliation, employee education, employee inquiries, plan documents, SPD’s regulatory compliance, benefit renewals and open enrollment.
    • Includes Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, EAP, Voluntary programs, COBRA administration, 401k administration and any other company-sponsored plan
  • Regular communication with 3rd party vendors including brokers and insurance companies
  • Supervise the Benefit and Payroll Specialist located in another location

Payroll

  • Oversee accurate and timely preparation of all payroll functions for all divisions of the company including verifying the accuracy of payroll data
  • Research and resolve payroll problems, tax issues, garnishments, and other related items with 3rd party vendors, tax agencies, state agencies, and accounting department
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries

General HR

  • Review current benefit and payroll processes and policies and proactively make recommendations for best practices
  • Maintains the company HRIS system including ongoing maintenance, approval of employee change requests, position changes, and other related changes. Upload and maintain updated information for the manager and employee education
  • Administer FMLA, leave of absence and ADA
  • Implements new hire orientation, employee recognition programs, wellness initiatives and other employee-focused programs
  • Ensure timely processes to prepare and process all forms, paperwork, and files related to employee onboarding, termination, and general maintenance including benefits enrollment and changes
  • Responsible for compliance with laws and regulations including ACA, policy and procedure, wage and hour laws, benefit compliance etc.
  • Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management and serve as a resource for multiple locations
  • Answer questions from managers regarding employee related topics including training and development, policy and procedure, employee relations, discipline and other related items
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Drive performance management initiates including the semi-annual performance review and annual merit increase cycle
  • Assist with safety initiatives at the location assigned including workers compensation claims
  • Oversee required government reporting including EEO
  • May assist with recruiting initiatives when needed
  • Other job duties as assigned

You have:

  • 5 plus years of related experience in a progressive HR role. Benefit and Payroll focused role is desirable.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Excel and Word

You might have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred)
  • SHRM or SPHR certification (preferred)
  • 10 years of progressive HR experience
  • Experience with multi-state, multi-division company

Your work environment:

  • Office environment must be able to work at desk and requires extended periods of sitting/standing
  • Requires repetitive movement and requires repeating the same physical or mental activities

  • Ability to work with employees in different work environments including warehouses, shops, assembly, and fabrication areas
  • May require travel up to 30% of the time
